Description
Aubergine , or Egg Plant, is part of the nightshade family of plants and originates in China in the fifth century B.C. Often used in Mediterranean dishes they are also great in stews and curries. Try them baked, grilled or on the BBQ.

Steven Haslum who runs a beautiful organic farm in Alderton near Tewkesbury Gloucestershire. The Haslum family were introduced to farming by Steven’s grandfather and continued by Steven’s father before he inherited the farm.The family have traditionaly concentrated on being specialist tomato producers but also grow cucumbers, aubergine and beans.
They grow under three acres of glass and have recently installed a state of the art hot water heating system that uses straw as fuel. This should allow the growing season to be extended at a fraction of the cost previously occured when using gas.
