    Thursday Cottage

“It's easy to make jam. It's difficult to make really good jam”.

So says Pam Corbin, also known as Pam The Jam.

Thursday Cottage was started in 1963 in a cottage of the same name outside Spaxton, Somerset. For many years, the business was then owned and run by Hugh and Pam Corbin from Lyme Regis.

They are now based at Trewlands Farm in Tiptree, Essex, where they still operate a small production unit where a variety of different preserves, curds and marmalades are made by hand. The ingredients, the open pan cooking and the products' distinctive taste and character are little changed from when the company was based in the West Country.

You won't find Thursday Cottage products in the major supermarkets because they like to support independant trade, which is where they started 50 years ago.

    Organic Preserves

With the exception of the Spanish oranges for our marmalades, we only use English fruit.

Our plums are East Anglian and our berries come from other English growers.
